What is Micro-Philanthropy?
"We can do no great things, only small things with great love." --Mother Teresa Micro-philanthropy is a fancy word for “showing love in small ways.” It empowers all of us to show our love for humankind, to add meaning to our lives and to those of others, and to know that our contribution matters. The One World Heart Project further expands the idea of micro-philanthropy by enabling those who are most often on the receiving end of charity to experience the joy of giving back. All people – regardless of wealth – can dedicate their time, effort and heart to charitable causes. Having little money or resources must not be a reason not to try. We must all stand together to challenge the belief that only the titans among us can make a difference. We must all stand together to change the world. We must all stand together.
Giving Circles A growing trend in philanthropy is the development of “giving circles” in which individual donors pool their charitable donations and decide together how to use the money to benefit the causes they support. The One World Heart Project aims to inspire these giving groups by asking its participants to visualize a red heart on every dollar that they earn or spend. Use your “heart earned” money as a powerful tool for transformation by making sure each bill is touched by love. Begin to believe in the power of one individual to catalyze transformation on a Grand Scale. Begin to believe that the act of giving ignites the transmission of Love that inspires the spirit.
